Glad I'm your first friend. I don't use it too much as yet, the community isn't here as yet, but as ever keep hopeful. It's a different format with jaiku, easier to see conversation threads when they do happen.
Friendfeed already integrates with Twitter. However I'd disagree with the idea that 'the community' isn't here. It's merely that Jaiku is a different community with different norms and values.
Look at the conversations that happened here during the Eurovision song contest on channels like #esc Note the way the span countries and languages.
One of Jaiku's strengths is that the conversations here are less likely to be dominated by the usual West Coast professional bloggers. By (accidentally) alienating those people Jaiku has created a space where other voices can be heard.
I like the way conversations can take place here, when I mentioned community, I was more meaning that one some of my other networks, I feel that some of the people I converse with there ('my' communities in one sense) would enjoy Jaiku over the other networks once they come here and try it. I hope I haven't caused confusion! I am enjoying the Jaiku community!
Interesting question - need to ponder on that one more. I think they will more as they hear more about it. I have some friends here who are on other networks too, but they aren't listening/conversing and joining in as yet. Interesting question though, may ask over on my FriendFeed!

Something that connects twitter and jaiku would win the prize. It must only be a matter of time...

In that case I agree completely with you.
What would persuade your community to use Jaiku?
